Sifu Le began his martial arts training in the summer of 1969,
in Vung Tau, Vietnam. The first style he learned was Tay
Son Bach Hac Quyen, a Vietnamese style gung fu. Soon after his
first experience with martial arts, he expanded his
studies to Vo Tu Do (the Vietnamese equivalent to Muay Thai Kick Boxing).
Sifu Le and his family moved to America in 1972 during the Vietnam War.
The following year he began his studies in America beginning with
Judo with Rushi Nishikawa.
In 1973 upon visiting his first DanZan Ryu Jujitsu class,
taught by Professor Musselman, he was compelled to study
the style. While perfecting his technique in DanZan Ryu,
Sifu Le also trained in Yau Kung Moon Gung Fu, Wing Chun
Gung Fu, and White Crane Gung Fu styles under David
Louie for 12 years. In conjunction with these
various styles, he also studied Geron BaHaLa Na
Escrima (Filipino stick fighting) with Dr. James Tobias.
In 1989, Sifu Le studied Tai Kwon Do under Tony Bueno,
Yang style Tai Chi Chuan with a friend and also
Shorinji Karate under Sam Chin. Following these 3 styles,
he studied YoShinKan Aikido under Christopher Reye.
In 1992, he met Sifu Bob Reish and studied
Jeet Kune Do, Muay Thai, and Kali styles. Today Sifu Le
continues refining these styles along with Pencak Silat. He has
also studied Mande Muda Silat under
Pak Herman Suwanda, and Pekiti Tirsia Kali (a Filipino style)
under Guro Loki Jorgensen.
Sifu Le has combined his conglomerate of knowledge
and studies into his own style of martial arts called
Ten Chi Do (translated "the way of heaven and earth").
He is currently teaching in the Bay Area, California.
